Job summary

Isembard is building a network of high‑performance factories in London. As a Robotics/Mechatronics Engineer you will design, build and integrate in‑house hardware, starting with autonomous material movement on the shop floor.

The role spans CAD, embedded systems and software. You will prototype and test on a live factory floor, work with actuators, sensors and communications hardware, and write the software that runs your hardware while connecting to MasonOS.

Qualifications

• Broad engineering ability across hardware, software and embedded systems.
• Strong CAD skills.
• Programming for robotics, e.g., Python or C++.
• Hands-on embedded experience with actuators and communications hardware.
• A record of building and deploying real hardware outside the lab.
• Startup/small team experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and integrate robotic and mechatronic systems from concept to deployment.
• Work across mechanical design, actuators, sensors and embedded electronics.
• Write the software that runs hardware and connects to MasonOS.
• Prototype and test on a live shop floor with modular designs for multi-site deployment.
• Develop maintenance and reliability practices for production systems.
