Job summary

OpenSourced - Search & Selection is recruiting a Robotic Service Engineer for UK-wide field-based work. You will service ABB, FANUC and KUKA robots, perform maintenance, fault diagnosis, and on-site support to keep systems running at peak performance.

You will travel nationwide with a company vehicle, undertake programming and commissioning, and build strong customer relationships while delivering high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Experience servicing industrial robots (ABB, FANUC, and/or KUKA).
• Strong fault-finding across electrical, mechanical, and controls.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.
• Calm, professional, customer-first approach under pressure.
• Robot programming and commissioning experience.

Responsibilities

• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on industrial robotic systems.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and programming faults.
• Emergency breakdown response to minimise downtime.
• Robot mastering, calibration, backups, and system recovery.
• Support commissioning and re-commissioning after repairs or upgrades.
• Build strong relationships with customers on-site and remotely.

Robotic Service Engineer | Up to £60,000 + Company Vehicle | UK-Wide, Field-Based

Are you an engineer who thrives on variety, autonomy, and solving real problems on-site? We're recruiting on behalf of a growing name in industrial robotics and automation, looking for an experienced Robotic Service Engineer to join their UK field service team.

You’ll be the go-to expert for customers across the UK, keeping their ABB, FANUC, and KUKA robotic systems running at their best - from planned maintenance to critical breakdown support. No two days look the same, and you’ll have real ownership over the sites you support.

What you’ll be doing:

• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on industrial robotic systems
• Diagnosing and resolving electrical, mechanical, and programming faults
• Emergency breakdown response to minimise customer downtime
• Robot mastering, calibration, backups, and system recovery
• Supporting commissioning and re-commissioning after repairs or upgrades
• Building strong, trusted relationships with customers on-site and remotely

What you’ll bring:

• Proven experience servicing industrial robots (ABB, FANUC, and/or KUKA)
• Strong fault-finding skills across electrical, mechanical, and controls systems
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide, including occasional overnight stays
• A calm, professional, customer-first approach - especially under pressure
• PLC experience (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Mitsubishi)
• HNC/HND or apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or Automation
• Robot programming and commissioning experience
