Job summary

Stirling Warrington Ltd in Wolverhampton is seeking a Robot Weld Technician to manage MIG/MAG and resistance welding processes across 50 ABB robotic welding cells. The role involves deployment, support and integration of new welding technologies in a brand-new state-of-the-art factory.

You will work with ABB/Fanuc robotics, perform fault-finding, and contribute to process improvements within a leading automotive manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in MIG/MAG and resistance welding
• Experience with joining systems — manual and robotic
• Automotive experience preferred with ABB or Fanuc robots
• Worked on robotic welding equipment
• Fault-finding skills desirable (mechanical/electrical)
• Ideally Level 3 in C&G/NVQ, etc
• Experience in automotive sector advantageous

Responsibilities

• Control, deployment and support of all MIG/MAG and resistance welding processes, including other joining technologies (SPR, Clinch, Adhesive, Sealant)
• Integration and implementation of new welding processes and drive continuous improvement
• Provide technical assistance to all departments on joining matters

36.5 hours per week. 8-4pm Mon-Thu, 8-3pm on Fridays.

The Company:

My Client are a leading tier 1 Automotive manufacturer who have had a significant £50,000,000 investment over the last few years. This role will be looking after 50 ABB robotic welding cells

Control, deployment & support of all MIGMAG & Resistance Welding processes, with the inclusion of other joining technologies such as SPR, Clinch, Adhesive & Sealant. Provide technical assistance to all associated departments with joining matters. Integration & implementation of new processes, and drive improvement.

Experience Required

• Provide support & education of all MIGMAG & Resistance welding,SPR/Clinch/Adhesive/Sealant joining processes.
• Experienced with joining systems – operating and maintenance of both manual and robotic joining systems
• Automotive experienced – ABB or Fanuc robots
• Worked on robotic welding equipment
• Fault-finding skills – mechanically and electrically desirable but not essential
• Ideally qualified – Level 3 in C&G/NVQ etc
• Experience within the automotive sector is advantageous
