Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to join our Patrol division, delivering roadside repairs, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll work from home, with a RAC van and tools provided, and respond quickly to member needs with expert technical skill.

Ideal candidates have an NVQ2 in light vehicle maintenance, 5+ years as a technician, and a valid UK driving licence with few points, in a role offering strong base pay and achievable OTE.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Handle basic to complex faults, battery issues, tyre changes and rapid fault-finding with confidence.
• Provide quick, reassuring solutions and exceptional member service while starting and finishing shifts from home.
