Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to join the Patrol division and provide expert mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll work from home to start or end your day, traveling in your RAC van with full tooling and a fuel card, delivering fast, confident solutions for members in need.

Requirements include an NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience, plus a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Handle faults such as flat batteries, tyre changes, and complex fault-finding at the roadside.
• Start and end your day at home, working with your RAC van, fuel card, and diagnostic kit.
