Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to join the Patrol division. You will perform diagnostics, roadside repairs, and emergency breakdown support across the UK, typically working 40 hours weekly with optional overtime.

You’ll receive a base salary of £36,400 with a realistic OTE around £60,000+. The role starts and finishes from home, with RAC providing a van, fuel card, uniform, tools, and diagnostics kit to you from day one.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience preferred.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Attend to faults like flat batteries, tyre changes, and complex faults.

Skills

NVQ Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance

2+ years experience

5+ years experience as Vehicle Tech

Full UK driving licence (<6 points)
