Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking a Roadside Technician (field-based) for a national breakdown company serving 15 million members. The role is permanent/full-time in Shepherds Bush with a salary of £36,400 plus OTE exceeding £60,000, with potential to earn £70k–£80k+.

Expect 40 hours per week, shifts 6am–12am, including overtime at x1.5 or fixed overtime £30/hour. You’ll diagnose and repair roadside faults, and provide clear next steps to members.

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Level 3 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair (preferred).
• Customer-focused approach.
• Full UK driving licence with up to 6 points, no bans.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical roadside repairs (battery changes, wheel changes, minor engine fixes).
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isnt possible to maintain mobility.
• Advise members on next steps, including recovery if needed.
• Work safely in varied environments and conditions.
