Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Roadside Technician to provide roadside assistance on a field-based basis in the Hillingdon area. You will diagnose faults, perform mechanical and electrical roadside repairs, and support mobile vehicle recovery when needed.

The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, with shifts from 6am to 12am, including weekends. Overtime is available with premium rates, and a strong benefits package is offered after probation.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair, or ideally a Level 3 qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Must have a minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, either in a workshop or mobile role.
• A full UK driving licence – max 6 points, no bans.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical roadside repairs, including battery changes and wheel changes.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn’t possible to keep members mobile.
• Advise members on next steps, including recovery if needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.

Job description

Roadside Technician (field-based) providing roadside assistance for a national breakdown company with over 15 million members. Great salary, benefits, overtime and bonus opportunities.

Pay / salary: £41,400 OTE: In Excess of £66,000, opportunity to earn 70-80k+

Job type: Permanent / full-time role

Shift and schedule for the Roadside Technician role

40 hours per week between 6am and 12am, Monday to Sunday. Shifts are known 12 months in advance. Flexi overtime at x1.5 and/or optional fixed overtime at £30 per hour. All hours start and stop from home as soon as you start the van.
