Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking a Roadside Technician (field-based) to provide roadside assistance for a national breakdown company. The role is based in Luton with a strong salary package, overtime, and bonus opportunities for top performers.

In addition to a base salary of £36,400, there is OTE in excess of £60,000 and potential to earn £70k–£80k+. The shift pattern is 40 hours per week, 6am–12am, with full time permanent employment and advance scheduling for a full year.

Qualificações

• Must have Level 2 or Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification.
• Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.
• Full UK driving licence – max 6 points, no bans.

Responsabilidades

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside, including battery replacements, wheel changes, and minor engine fixes.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn’t possible, ensuring member mobility.
• Advise members clearly on next steps, including recovery if needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.

Shift and schedule for the Roadside Technician role

40 hours per week between 6am and 12am, Monday to Sunday. Shifts are known 12 months in advance. Flexi overtime at x1.5 and/or optional fixed overtime at £30 per hour. All hours start and stop from home as soon as you start the van.

What you’ll need to be considered for the Roadside Technician role

• Must have a minimum Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair, or ideally a Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Must have a minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, either in a workshop or a mobile vehicle role.
• A customer-focused approach.
• Must have a full UK driving licence – max 6 points, no bans.
