Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking a Roadside Technician (field-based) located in Harrogate to attend roadside breakdowns and perform quick, accurate fault diagnosis and repairs.

You will undertake electrical and mechanical tasks at the roadside, using diagnostic tools and providing temporary solutions to maintain member mobility.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years hands-on experience with vehicles post-qualification.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and diagnose faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside, including battery changes and wheel changes.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn't possible to restore mobility.
• Advise members on next steps and recovery if needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments.

Roadside Technician (field-based) providing roadside assistance for a national breakdown company with over 15 million members. Great salary, benefits, overtime and bonus opportunities.

Location: Harrogate

Pay / salary: £36,400 OTE: OTE: In Excess of £60,000, opportunity to earn 70-80k+

Job type: Permanent / full-time role

Shift and schedule for the Roadside Technician role

40 hours per week between 6am and 12am, Monday to Sunday. Shifts are known 12 months in advance. Flexi overtime at x1.5 and/or optional fixed overtime at £30 per hour. All hours start and stop from home as soon as you start the van.

What you'll need to be considered for the Roadside Technician role

• Must have a minimum Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair, or ideally a Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Must have a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, either in a workshop or a mobile vehicle role.
• A customer-focused approach.
• Must have a full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans.
