Job summary

The AA is seeking a Roadside Rescue Mechanic to join its UK-wide team. You’ll be the friendly face of the nation’s largest motoring organisation, helping members when they are stranded and getting their day moving again.

You’ll work around a 40-hour week with varied shifts, earning guaranteed year 1 wages of £43,976 including allowances, with OTE up to £60,000 based on performance. A sign-on bonus in eligible locations enhances this package.

Qualifications

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience.
• Full Category B driving licence, with 6 points or less.

• Starting and finishing on your driveway paid from the moment you get in your van to the moment you get home.
• Working independently across varied locations and conditions, while remaining a valued part of a supportive team.
• Using your technical knowledge and clear communication to help ensure a positive customer experience.
• Solving problems on the spot, using your technical skills and calm approach to handle a wide range of roadside situations.

Shifts: As a patrol you will work on average 40 hour week with a variety of shift pattern options available, you have the flexibility to choose a schedule that best suits your personal and professional needs. The number of rest days you enjoy each year, as well as the length of your shifts will vary based on the shift pattern you select.

What do I need?

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience.
• It’s essential that you have a full category B driving licence, with 6 points or less.
• Confidence using and adapting to new technology we’ll provide the tools, you bring the curiosity.
• Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays because breakdowns don’t stick to a schedule.
