Job summary

The AA is seeking a Roadside Rescue Mechanic to join our UK-wide patrol team. You will be the friendly face who gets members back on the road, delivering safe, reliable assistance in all weather and locations.

You’ll work around 40 hours weekly with flexible shift options and the chance to earn guaranteed year 1 earnings of £43,976 plus OTE up to £60,000 based on performance. Training, safety, and support are provided to help you excel.

Qualifications

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Full category B driving licence with 6 points or less.
• Willing to work flexible shift patterns including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Start and finish on your driveway, paid from the moment you get in your van to the moment you get home.
• Work independently across varied locations and conditions, while being a valued part of a team.
• Use your technical knowledge and clear communication to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Solve problems on the spot using your technical skills and calm approach to roadside situations.

Shifts: As a patrol you will work on average 40 hour week with a variety of shift pattern options available, you have the flexibility to choose a schedule that best suits your personal and professional needs. The number of rest days you enjoy each year, as well as the length of your shifts will vary based on the shift pattern you select.

What will I be doing?

What do I need?

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience.
• It’s essential that you have a full category B driving licence, with 6 points or less.
• Confidence using and adapting to new technology we’ll provide the tools, you bring the curiosity.
• Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays because breakdowns don’t stick to a schedule.
