Job summary

The AA is seeking a Roadside Rescue Mechanic in London to join our roadside operations. As a patrol you will work across varied locations, applying technical knowledge to help members regain mobility and confidence on the road.

You’ll be the friendly face of the UK’s largest motoring organisation, with guaranteed year 1 earnings of £61,960 inclusive of allowances and OTE up to £62,000 based on top performance.

Qualifications

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience.
• Full category B driving licence, with 6 points or less.
• Confidence using and adapting to new technology with provided tools.
• Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Starting and finishing on your driveway, paid from the moment you get in your van to the moment you get home.
• Working independently across varied locations and conditions, while being part of a supportive team.
• Using your technical knowledge and clear communication to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Solving problems on the spot, using technical skills and calm approach for roadside situations.

Shifts: As a patrol you will work on average 49 hour week with a variety of shift pattern options available, you have the flexibility to choose a schedule that best suits your personal and professional needs. The number of rest days you enjoy each year, as well as the length of your shifts will vary based on the shift pattern you select.

What do I need?

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience
• It’s essential that you have a full category B driving licence, with 6 points or less
• Confidence using and adapting to new technology we’ll provide the tools, you bring the curiosity.
• Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays because breakdowns don’t stick to a schedule.
