Job summary

The AA is seeking a Roadside Rescue Mechanic to join our nationwide patrol network. You’ll respond to breakdowns, using your technical skills and clear communication to restore drivers’ day-to-day mobility.

You’ll work around 40 hours per week across varied locations, with shift options and a supportive team. Strong driving record, NVQ3 and hands-on problem solving are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience.
• Full category B driving licence, 6 points or less.
• Ability to adapt to new technology and tools.

• Starting and finishing on your driveway, paid from the moment you get in your van.
• Working independently across varied locations and conditions, while part of a supportive team.
• Using technical knowledge and clear communication to ensure a positive customer experience.

Shifts: As a patrol you will work on average 40 hour week with a variety of shift pattern options available, you have the flexibility to choose a schedule that best suits your personal and professional needs. The number of rest days you enjoy each year, as well as the length of your shifts will vary based on the shift pattern you select.

What do I need?

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience
• It’s essential that you have a full category B driving licence, with 6 points or less
• Confidence using and adapting to new technology we’ll provide the tools, you bring the curiosity.
• Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays because breakdowns don’t stick to a schedule.
