Job summary

The AA is seeking a Roadside Rescue Mechanic to join our nationwide team. You will start and finish your day from your driveway, driving to various locations to assist members and get their day moving again.

With NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair and a full category B licence, you’ll work in varied conditions, handling roadside repairs and delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)
• Full category B driving licence with 6 points or less
• Confidence with new technology and tools
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays

Responsibilities

• Starting and finishing on your driveway; paid from first in-van to home time
• Work independently across varied locations while being part of a supportive team
• Use technical knowledge and clear communication to ensure a positive customer experience

Shifts: As a patrol you will work on average 40 hour week with a variety of shift pattern options available, you have the flexibility to choose a schedule that best suits your personal and professional needs. The number of rest days you enjoy each year, as well as the length of your shifts will vary based on the shift pattern you select.

What will I be doing?

• Starting and finishing on your driveway paid from the moment you get in your van to the moment you get home.
• Working independently across varied locations and conditions, while remaining a valued part of a supportive team.
• Using your technical knowledge and clear communication to help ensure a positive customer experience.
• Solving problems on the spot, using your technical skills and calm approach to handle a wide range of roadside situations.

What do I need?

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience
• It’s essential that you have a full category B driving licence, with 6 points or less
• Confidence using and adapting to new technology we’ll provide the tools, you bring the curiosity.
• Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays because breakdowns don’t stick to a schedule.
