Job summary

The AA is seeking a Roadside Rescue Mechanic to join our nationwide team. You will operate as a patrol, starting and finishing from your driveway, with paid hours from the moment you enter your van until you return home, across varied locations and times.

You’ll use your technical knowledge and communication skills to ensure a positive customer experience, address roadside service issues, and work within a supportive team to restore drivers quickly and safely.

Qualifications

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience.
• Full category B driving licence with 6 points or less is essential.
• Confidence using new technology and willingness to learn the provided tools.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Shifts: As a patrol you will work on average 40 hour week with a variety of shift pattern options available, you have the flexibility to choose a schedule that best suits your personal and professional needs. The number of rest days you enjoy each year, as well as the length of your shifts will vary based on the shift pattern you select.

What do I need?

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience
• It’s essential that you have a full category B driving licence, with 6 points or less
• Confidence using and adapting to new technology we’ll provide the tools, you bring the curiosity.
• Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays because breakdowns don’t stick to a schedule.
