Job summary

East Dunbartonshire Council seeks a technically competent professional to provide guidance and design input for the Roads Network Operations Team. The role involves inspections, monitoring and coordinating with contractors under the New Roads & Street Works Act 1991 and Road Scotland Act 1984.

You will work from the Broomhill depot in Kirkintilloch, supporting capital and revenue projects to maintain the transport network.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting and monitoring roadworks and assets.
• Ability to analyse data and identify patterns for road management.
• Experience in managing contracts and contractors.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance, design detail and solutions for network operations.
• Arrange, record and monitor inspections and site activities.
• Consult with contractors to ensure road space arrangements are met.
• Support capital and revenue transport projects to maintain the network safely.
• Liaise with public, politicians and external bodies; respond to enquiries.
