Job summary

Amey is seeking a Highways Maintenance Operative to join the Woodside J15 project in Glasgow on a fixed-term contract of at least six months. The role runs a 42-hour week on a 4 on 4 off cycle (12-hour shifts) performing routine maintenance, patching, and drainage works, with winter standby and overtime.

Qualifications

• Experience in roads and/or street works is required.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.
• Demonstrate awareness of Health and Safety regulations.
• Be self-motivated and able to work collaboratively within a team.
• Winter maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking highway maintenance tasks including patching, kerbing, ironwork replacement, and drainage maintenance.
• Operate and maintain vehicles, including HGVs and small plant machinery.
• Participate in winter and summer standby duties, including emergency callouts.
• Safety is a priority; ensure your safety and the team.
• Keep accurate records and complete paperwork, liaising with Amey staff and partners.
