Job summary

West Lothian Council seeks an experienced professional to lead the Road Safety and Traffic Management Team within the Roads and Transportation Service. This senior role requires an Incorporated Engineer qualification and extensive road safety knowledge.

You will deliver policy, planning and schemes, while ensuring effective communication and team collaboration across the council. The post reports to the Roads Network Manager and focuses on parking schemes, traffic management, and scheme

Qualifications

• Registered with Engineering Council at least IEng
• Member of a relevant professional institution
• Extensive knowledge in road safety engineering and traffic management
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Proven project management and database management experience

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day activities of Road Safety and Traffic Management Team
• Deliver road safety policy, planning and engineering schemes
• Report to Roads Network Manager and promote strong team collaboration
• Lead on traffic management and parking issues including Disabled Persons' Parking Places scheme
