Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council is seeking a Development Management Team Engineering Officer to drive road and transportation infrastructure projects in Hamilton. You will assess planning applications, transport assessments, and road construction consent, leading on development management matters and working within a specialist team to meet deadlines.

The role is temporary for 23 months and requires an HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent); Incorporated or Chartered status is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in road design standards, drainage, construction methods, transportation assessments and traffic modelling.
• Knowledge of legislative and technical aspects (e.g. Roads Construction Consent) and ability to assist with policy development.
• Ability to work under pressure to deadlines as part of a wider specialist team.

Responsibilities

• Lead development management matters for the service.
• Assist with planning applications, transport assessments and construction consent applications.
• Travel throughout the Council area as required by role.
