Job summary

Hurst Green is seeking a Road Safety Officer to help develop, implement and monitor the Council’s road safety plans for the Dudley Borough. You will contribute to reducing road casualties and promoting sustainable travel, including supporting Bikeability cycle training.

The role requires delivering education sessions, planning resources, and working with colleagues to monitor and evaluate impact. Full-time, 37 hours per week, Grade 7 with a salary of £32,578–£35,570 per annum.

Qualifications

• Five GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent).
• Excellent communicator with confidence presenting to groups.
• Works well in a team and is eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Deliver road safety education sessions in schools and community settings in the Dudley Borough.
• Plan, develop and review resources and sessions delivered.
• Ensure resources and sessions are targeted, relevant and aligned with guidelines through monitoring and evaluation.
• Develop and deliver road safety education initiatives as directed by the Road Safety Education Lead and partnerships.
• Manage, supervise and train casual road safety assistants and school crossing patrol staff.
