Job summary

Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a Road Safety Officer to support the Road Safety Education Lead in developing, delivering and monitoring the council’s road safety plans. The role focuses on reducing casualties, raising awareness and promoting sustainable travel within the Dudley Borough.

You will deliver education sessions in schools and communities, coordinate resources, supervise casual road safety staff and contribute to monitoring and evaluation to ensure sessions are relevant

Qualifications

GCSEs: 5 at grade C or above (or equivalent).
Relevant road safety or educational experience.
Excellent communicator with confidence delivering presentations.
Works well as part of an established team.
Enthusiastic and willing to learn.

Responsibilities

Deliver road safety education sessions within schools and community settings in the Dudley Borough.
Plan, develop and review resources and sessions delivered with colleagues.
Ensure resources and sessions are targeted, relevant and align with national and local guidelines through monitoring and evaluation.
Develop and deliver road safety education, training and engagement initiatives as directed by the Road Safety Education Lead and partnership groups.
Manage, supervise and provide training for casual road safety assistants and school crossing patrol staff.
