Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Derby is seeking a registered nurse (RMN/RNLD) to work on Alvaston Ward, a 16-bed low secure service for women with emotional or mental health needs. The role involves nursing assessments, care planning and medicines administration, with audit and service development alongside the management team.

You will deputise in a clinical lead role, monitor risk, support recovery and engage residents, relatives and other professionals in evidence-based care. DBS and PIN are required.

Qualifications

• NMC registration as RMN or RNLD with a current PIN.
• Experience as RMN or RNLD in a mental health setting.
• Understanding of current nursing practice and audits.

Responsibilities

• Produce written reports based on nursing assessments and observations.
• Develop service quality through audits and management team collaboration.
• Maintain care plans with residents, relatives and healthcare professionals.
• Administer prescribed medicines in line with procedures.
• Attend training and CPD activities to enhance knowledge.
