Job summary

Priory Lichfield Road is recruiting a Qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join our rehab service in Walsall. This full-time role (37.5 hours per week) offers the chance to work with adults with complex mental health needs, delivering person-centred care within an agreed framework.

You will contribute as part of a multidisciplinary team, maintain NMC registration, complete a preceptorship if applicable, and provide evidence-based care.

Qualifications

• Qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with 6–12 months post-registration experience.
• Active NMC registration and completion of a preceptorship programme.
• Not suitable for newly qualified or preceptorship nurses.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, person-centred care within an agreed framework.
• Collaborate with patients, families and carers to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care.
• Act as named nurse for a defined patient group and monitor changes in condition.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective care and participate in meetings.

Salary: £36,176 / year

Location

Lichfield Road, based in Walsall, West Midlands. Priory Lichfield Road is a rehabilitation service offering both level 1 and 2 care, and supports men and women with severe, complex and enduring mental health needs, including treatment-resistant conditions.

Priory Lichfield Road benefits from excellent transport links, making it easily accessible for both staff and visitors. The site is conveniently located near local train stations, providing straightforward rail connections from surrounding areas, while regular bus services also operate nearby with routes directly serving the location. This makes commuting to and from the hospital both convenient and reliable using public transport.

We’re looking for

Qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with 6–12 months post-registration experience, active NMC Registration, and completed preceptorship programme. This role is not suitable for newly qualified nurses or preceptorship nurses.

What you'll be doing

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with 6–12 months of experience to join our team. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, person-centred care within an agreed framework, working closely with patients, families, and carers to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care. You will act as the named nurse for a defined group of patients, accurately observing and engaging with individuals to assess their needs, monitor progress, and respond appropriately to changes in condition.

You will work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a positive and safe care environment while effectively managing and prioritising nursing duties within the shift coordination framework. The role also involves participating in clinical and non-clinical meetings, handling patient and family feedback professionally, and supporting the delivery of excellent standards of care.

In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.
