Job description

The Risk Reporting Officer will work alongside the Head of Risk Reporting and Senior Risk Reporting Manager in the design, collation, and preparation of risk papers, reports, and presentations to committees. This includes organizing and coordinating timely input from relevant departments and Risk teams.

You will help ensure that risk information and analysis are properly represented and understood across Starling, including developing and redesigning reporting to committees as needed. The role involves the end-to-end lifecycle of committee reporting: setting agendas, communicating with committee chairs, managing relationships across all three lines of defence to consolidate risk information, and ensuring punctual circulation.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate the reporting cycle for papers to sub-executive risk committees, including agenda-setting, supporting report production, reviewing for quality standards, and occasional presentation.
  2. Maintain committee forward plans and engage stakeholders to provide timely notification of paper requests.
  3. Liaise with the Company Secretariat team to maintain committee action logs and assist senior Risk stakeholders in providing updates on progress with committee actions.
  4. Assist with the production and analysis of risk MI for reporting to committees.
  5. Champion good corporate governance within the Risk Reporting Function, including documenting processes, maintaining audit trails, and capturing data points.
  6. Contribute to the design and development of reporting across all risk sub-categories, including ongoing process improvements.
  7. Ensure the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of risk reporting to committees.

Requirements

  • Experience in organizing, designing, and facilitating risk reporting.
  • Knowledge of risk management in financial services.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to challenge positively and navigate difficult situations resiliently.
  • Analytical and logical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Understanding of good corporate governance principles and practices.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities, with strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Comfort with handling, transforming, and visualizing large data sets.
  • A proven problem solver committed to continuous improvement.

The role offers various benefits including holiday entitlement, private medical insurance, pension schemes, discounts, and flexible working options.
