Job summary

W. R. Berkley Corporation invites an experienced Risk Manager to strengthen its enterprise risk management framework within the Lloyd's market context.

You will collaborate with stakeholders across the business to identify, assess, monitor and manage risks, supporting governance, this second-line function and regulatory compliance. The role focuses on developing risk registers, KRIs, and reports for senior leadership, while driving risk culture and alignment with ORSA, internal model governance

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' Risk Management experience in a Lloyd's or London Market environment.
• Strong understanding of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks and best practices.
• Experience supporting risk assessments, controls reviews and risk reporting processes.
• Good knowledge of ORSA, Internal Model validation and governance activities.
• Understanding of Lloyd's, PRA and Solvency UK regulatory requirements.
• Experience using ERM systems such as Decision Focus or similar platforms.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills; strong stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Support the ongoing development and maintenance of the enterprise Risk Management Framework.
• Promote risk awareness and support risk training initiatives across the business.
• Maintain and enhance risk registers, controls frameworks and governance documentation.
• Coordinate and facilitate risk and control assessment exercises with business stakeholders.
• Develop, monitor and report on Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
• Investigate risk incidents and support root cause analysis and remediation.
• Prepare risk reporting for senior management, committees and key stakeholders.
• Support ORSA documentation and reporting developments.
• Contribute to Internal Model validation, assurance and governance activities.
• Support stress testing, scenario testing and ESG/climate risk initiatives.
• Partner with Underwriters and business leaders to embed a strong risk culture.
• Help ensure regulatory and governance requirements are met.

What You'll Do

Qualifications

Skills & Experience Required

• Minimum 5 years' Risk Management experience within a Lloyd's or London Market insurance environment.
• Strong understanding of Enterprise Risk Management frameworks and best practices.
• Experience supporting risk assessments, controls reviews and risk reporting processes.
• Good knowledge of ORSA, Internal Model validation and risk governance activities.
• Understanding of Lloyd's, PRA and Solvency UK regulatory requirements.
• Experience using Enterprise Risk Management systems such as Decision Focus or similar platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
• Strong stakeholder management capabilities with experience working across business functions.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Desirable

• Degree, Master's degree or professional qualification in Risk Management, Insurance or a related discipline.
• Exposure to ESG, climate risk, stress testing and scenario analysis.
• Experience working with senior leadership teams and governance committees.
• Professional risk or insurance qualifications.
