Job summary

Pets at Home is seeking an experienced Internal Controls Manager to strengthen risk, governance and internal controls across the Group. The role offers hybrid working and will involve partnering with Finance, Legal, IT, Retail and Support Office functions to safeguard the business while enabling change and growth.

Reporting to the Group Head of Profit Protection, Risk and Internal Controls, you will help develop and embed the enterprise risk management framework, assess risks, design controls

Qualifications

• Significant experience in risk, internal controls, audit or governance.
• Experience building or supporting risk and controls frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of financial controls and risk management principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to challenge constructively and influence stakeholders.
• Relevant audit, risk or financial qualification or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and embedding of the enterprise risk management framework.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify risks and implement effective controls and mitigation plans.
• Support design, implementation and operation of the Group's internal controls framework for Provision 29 compliance.
• Review risk events, analyze root causes and drive improvements.
• Maintain and develop risk registers across the business.
• Support executive and Audit & Risk Committee reporting.
• Deliver training and help build risk awareness across the organisation.
• Collaborate with Internal Audit, Legal, Finance, IT and operations to strengthen controls.
