Job summary

Pets at Home is seeking an Internal Controls Manager on a 12-month FTC. This hybrid role based in Handforth supports Profit Protection and collaborates with Finance, Legal, IT and Retail to strengthen risk and internal controls across the Group.

You will lead the design and embedding of the enterprise risk management framework, challenge stakeholders, maintain risk registers and deliver governance reporting to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Risk, Internal Controls, Audit or similar governance.
• Experience building or supporting risk and controls frameworks.
• Strong understanding of financial controls and risk principles.

Responsibilities

• Support development and embedding of enterprise risk management framework.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify risks and implement effective controls.
• Design, implement and operate Group internal controls for Provision 29 compliance.
• Review risk events, analyse root causes and drive improvements.
• Maintain and develop risk registers across the business.
• Support executive and Audit & Risk Committee reporting.
• Deliver training and build risk awareness across the organisation.
• Collaborate with Internal Audit, Legal, Finance and IT to strengthen controls.
