Job summary

Chadwick Nott - South West and South Wales is seeking a Risk & Compliance Solicitor to join a leading Top 100 UK law firm in Taunton. You will help maintain regulatory standards, manage risk processes and support governance alongside colleagues across legal and business services.

The role requires a Solicitor in England & Wales with 2+ PQE and experience in a regulated firm. You will advise on regulatory obligations, handling onboarding, engagements, complaints and regulatory enquiries while

Qualifications

• Qualified as a Solicitor in England & Wales with at least 2 years PQE.
• Experience in a regulated law firm.
• Strong knowledge of SRA Standards and Regulations.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Pragmatic, commercially minded and proactive approach.
• Interest in legal innovation, technology and AI.

Responsibilities

• Providing guidance on regulatory obligations and compliance matters across the business.
• Assisting with conflicts, client due diligence and onboarding procedures.
• Reviewing terms of engagement and other contractual documentation.
• Supporting the management of complaints, professional negligence issues and regulatory enquiries.
• Delivering training sessions and compliance updates to colleagues.
• Contributing to policy development, internal reviews and audit activities.
• Keeping abreast of regulatory changes and ensuring key updates are communicated effectively.
• Participating in projects relating to governance, risk, compliance and emerging legal technologies, including AI.
