Job summary

QED Legal LLP in Hertfordshire is seeking a Risk & Compliance Lawyer to join a supportive team on a hybrid basis (3 days in the office). With 3+ years’ PQE, you will gain hands-on exposure to data protection, AML, regulatory compliance and broader firmwide risk initiatives.

You will help strengthen the firm’s risk and compliance framework, draft policies, conduct audits and support on client matters, regulatory inquiries, and professional negligence responses.

Qualifications

• 3+ PQE as a qualified lawyer.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day data protection matters, including SARs and breaches.
• Support the DPO with GDPR and data protection queries.
• Conduct AML and KYC checks during client onboarding.
• Support ongoing AML compliance and risk projects.
• Assist with firmwide risk and compliance initiatives.
• Respond to risk queries and provide guidance.
• Assist with professional negligence claims and client complaints.
• Draft and update policies and procedures.
• Carry out file audits and compliance reviews.

Looking to move away from fee-earning and build a broader career in legal risk and compliance?

This could be a great opportunity for a lawyer with 3+ years’ PQE who wants hands-on exposure across data protection, AML, regulatory compliance and wider firmwide risk.

You’ll join a supportive team and play a key role in helping strengthen the firm’s risk and compliance framework.

What will you be doing?
