Job summary

Calderdale Council is seeking a Risk and Assurance Manager to join the Internal Audit, Risk Management and Insurance Team. You will lead on developing and implementing the council’s risk management framework, identifying, monitoring and mitigating risks across services and projects.

You will oversee risk reporting to senior management, committees and external stakeholders, and provide expert advice on governance, assurance and compliance with statutory requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in risk management and governance.
• Ability to lead and train staff and Members on risk/assurance.
• Strong understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead on risk reporting to senior management, committees and external stakeholders.
• Develop and implement the council’s risk management framework, ensuring risks are identified, monitored and mitigated.
• Provide leadership and training on risk management and assurance across the council and to Members where applicable.
