Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Risk & Assurance Advisor to support Safety, Quality & Assurance across multiple sites. The role involves regular site visits, audits, and driving improvements while travelling to locations across the region.

You will collaborate with operational teams, leverage NEBOSH knowledge, and influence stakeholders to uphold high safety standards and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Safety Advisor, preferably in waste management.
• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent required.
• Auditing experience and strong stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site visits and audits to ensure safety and quality standards.
• Support municipal operations and associated facilities through risk and assurance activities.
• Identify improvements, engage teams, and implement site improvement plans.
• Liaise with stakeholders, regulators and customers on best practices.

Risk & Assurance Advisor

Salary: region of £40,000 depending on experience, plus car/allowance, bonus and other Veolia benefits

Location: Mobile with travel to sites around South East & North

What you’ll be doing:

• Actively support the business on Safety, Quality & Assurance matters by conducting regular site visits (as per our Annual planner), assure the business the right standards are in place, undertake regular audits, including engagement visits and monitor progress against the site improvement plans.
• You will support an operational team covering municipal collections, street cleaning, waste transfer stations, fleet workshops and an Integrated Waste Management Facility.
• Engage with teams and identify further improvements and provide solutions.
• To work closely with the Municipal Risk & Assurance Manager, to support operations and where appropriate support and liaise with external stakeholders, regulators and customers.
• To liaise with clients and support and advice on industry best practices.

What we’re looking for:

• Experience in a Safety Advisor Role, ideally in waste management
• NEBOSH General Certificate.Or equivalent
• Auditing experience.
• The ability to influence key stakeholders on site.
• An individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide industry-leading customer service to all internal and external customers.
