That’s where you come in. As a Risk Apprentice, you’ll learn how to spot problems before they happen, help teams stay on the right side of complex regulations, and keep our bank (and our customers) protected. Think of it as being the safety net for Britain’s biggest digital bank.

Topics you’ll cover
  • Understanding legal and regulatory frameworks (yes, the rules of the game)
  • Presenting complex information clearly (because jargon doesn’t help anyone)
  • Reporting and analysing risk situations
  • How to build evidence‑based reports leaders can act on
The work you could be doing
  • Helping colleagues apply legal and regulatory frameworks
  • Spotting and reducing potential risks before they grow
  • Writing clear reports that help decision‑makers take action
  • Communicating risks in ways that everyone can understand
Your skills toolkit
  • Risk and compliance basics (the “must‑haves” in financial services).
  • Analytical thinking and evidence‑based reporting
  • Communication skills that make complex stuff simple
  • How to keep customers, colleagues and the business safe
Support in your corner
  • Blended learning: real projects + tutor‑led study
  • Time dedicated to your development
  • A mentor, a manager and a buddy who’ll share their experience
  • A network of colleagues who’ve got your back (and your career)

Fully funded. We’ll pay your salary and cover the cost of your studies, giving you the opportunity to complete a fully funded level3 apprenticeship in Compliance & Risk. Alongside this, you’ll build transferable skills that can open doors across the financial services sector, and gain valuable experience at the heart of a bank that supports millions of businesses and customers.

Requirements

What you’ll need

  • You’ll need to be at least 18 years old on1stSeptember2027
  • 5 GCSEs at grade4–9 including Maths and English (Achieved)

Important information

An additional requirement for the apprenticeship position is that you must currently possess a valid Right to Work in the UK. Your visa end date must extend beyond the duration of the apprenticeship programme, which will last up to two years. Due to Home Office requirements regarding Skilled Workers, we’re unable to accept applications for visa sponsorship for our apprenticeship roles as the proposed salary for the role does not meet the minimum threshold – if this situation applies to you, please consider looking for other vacancies which may be more suitable.

Location

This apprenticeship is based in London and you will be expected to work from the local office throughout the programme. While our hybrid working policy requires office attendance at least two days per week (40% for full‑time colleagues), apprentices are expected to be in the office most days during the initial settling‑in period. If your commute exceeds 1.5hours, we strongly recommend relocating closer to the office to ensure consistent attendance in line with contractual and hybrid working expectations.

About working for us

Our ambition is to be the leading UK business for diversity, equity and inclusion supporting our customers, colleagues and communities and we’re committed to creating an environment in which everyone can thrive, learn and develop. We were one of the first major organisations to set goals on diversity in senior roles, create a menopause health package, and a dedicated Working with Cancer Initiative. We offer reasonable workplace adjustments for colleagues with disabilities, including flexibility in office attendance, location and working patterns. And, as a Disability Confident Leader, we guarantee interviews for a fair and proportionate number of applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the role with a disability, long‑term health or neurodivergent condition through the Disability Confident Scheme. We provide reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process to reduce or remove barriers. Just let us know what you need.
