Job summary

Navantia UK is seeking an experienced Rigger to join the Methil facility in Fife. You will safely prepare, move and position loads and heavy equipment across the site, working within a busy heavy engineering environment with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

As a Rigger, you will attach loads to cranes, inspect and prepare items, select suitable rigging gear, and maintain a clean, safe working area while complying with company safety procedures.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 – Moving Engineering Loads or equivalent.
• Knowledge & understanding of LOLER 98.
• In depth knowledge of rigging equipment.
• Ability to work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Attach loads and equipment to structures or cranes using cables, clamps, chains and shackles.
• Inspect loads prior to lifting and movement.
• Set, align and level heavy equipment and machinery.
• Select the correct rigging gear for each lift or task.
• Prepare rigging equipment and lifting accessories.
• Inspect rigging equipment before use to ensure safety.
