Job summary

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a rheumatology consultant to join a well-established department of eight consultants. The role will augment capacity, contribute to teaching, audit and research, and support combined clinical governance within the Trust.

The post holder will engage in multidisciplinary meetings, supervise junior staff, and develop research interests in line with national standards and departmental facilities.

Qualifications

• Medical degree required.
• MD or equivalent higher degree or evidence of relevant research expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialty rheumatology advice and support to patients within the Trust.
• Attend weekly departmental and X-ray meetings; train registrars and junior medical staff in rheumatology/general medicine.
• Develop a research interest and participate in audits and clinical governance.
