Job summary

Our client in Welham Green near Hatfield is seeking a Costing Technician on a 6-month contract. You will liaise with External and Internal Sales, Technical Services, and Purchasing to prepare accurate quotations for RFQs from existing and new customers. The role is 5 days per week, 8am-4.30pm Monday-Thursday and 8am-3.30pm Friday.

It offers hybrid work (2 days in the office, 3 from home). If you live beyond a 20 mile radius the role can be fully remote, and there is potential for extension to a

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and BOMs.
• Strong understanding of costing calculations and margins.
• Experience with ERP systems and quoting software.

Responsibilities

• Analyse RFQs and prepare detailed quotations.
• Coordinate with External/Internal Sales, Technical Services and Purchasing.
• Source material pricing and lead times from suppliers.
• Select component specifications or approved alternatives, ensuring group materials are used.
• Ensure quotations align with margin targets and company procedures.
• Maintain documentation in line with ISO 9001:2015 quality management.
