Job Description

What will you be doing?

ALTEN is seeking an experienced RF Test Engineer to join our dynamic space division, supporting cutting-edge commercial programs. If you're passionate about RF testing, electronics, and emerging technologies, this role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of innovation.

Your main responsibilities will be:

1. Conduct RF and electronics testing, ensuring compliance with industry standards (ETSI, FCC).
2. Set up, operate, and troubleshoot RF test systems and laboratory instrumentation (Rohde & Schwarz, Anritsu, Speag).
3. Support validation and verification processes for high-tech space applications.
4. Contribute to the development of test plans and standard operating procedures.
5. Work collaboratively with engineers and technicians to deliver high-precision results.
6. Ensure adherence to BPSS security clearance requirements for commercial programs.

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required:

1. Degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
2. Strong background in RF Testing with hands-on experience in consumer product testing, SAR, and EMC.
3. Familiarity with Wi-Fi (6E), Bluetooth, 5G NR, Co-tx, NB (Narrow Band), and band-edge testing.
4. Experience working in RF labs, troubleshooting emerging technologies, and setting up test facilities.
5. Ability to analyze and compile testing data, providing detailed reports on performance.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills, teamwork, and a proactive approach to test challenges.
7. Ability to work on-site in Portsmouth, 5 days a week with AM/PM shift flexibility.
