Vectawave Technology Ltd is seeking an RF Test Engineer to join their Newport site. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in RF testing, with responsibilities ranging from testing and diagnosing faults to supporting customers. Due to ongoing expansion and internal progression, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as an RF Test Engineer, at our site in Newport, Isle of Wight.
Vectawave Technology Limitedwas founded in 1997 and is a manufacturer of robust, air-cooled, class A power amplifiers for use in industrial, military and medical applications.
This role is offered on a full time, permanent basis in return for a competitive salary.
For this role you will need demonstrable experience within an RF, electronic or electrical manufacturing environment.
This is a hands-on role which will require you to work on a mixture of RF and Microwave products from sub-assemblies, modules, amplifiers and systems. You will be responsible for ensuring our products and systems are tested in accordance with approved procedures and documentation, within schedules and to quality standards.
Reporting to the Test Manager, the role will involve:
·Comprehensive testing of RF and Microwave sub-assemblies, modules and complete amplifiers, both single unit and systems.
·Diagnosing faults, repairing to component level, modifying and upgrading modules, sub-assemblies and complete systems
·Recording and maintaining test result integrity by serial number, validating the test records by checking any formal release, documenting test variations and non-conformance
·Providing after sales support to Partners and Customers
·Creation/development of test methods and other documentation
·Following equipment and personnel safety requirements applicable to the product under test (e.g. test equipment suitability, anti-static precautions)
·Carry out other production test tasks as instructed by the Test Manager
For this role it is desired that you would have all or some of the following attributes:
·HND/HNC in Electronic Engineering or relevant experience
·An excellent attention to detail and accuracy
·Effective communications skills both written and verbal
·The ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
·Have a good working knowledge of current and common microwave test equipment and an understanding of common types of Test Strategy
·Have proven problem-solving methodologies
·Computer literate with good IT skills, particularly using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
