Job summary

Motorola Solutions UK Limited in Cambridge seeks an experienced software engineer to develop embedded applications for RF analysis and geolocation across distributed systems. You will work with C#, .NET MAUI, APIs and AI tools to accelerate development while ensuring high quality and robust interfaces.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
• Proven delivery of application software that consists of complex algorithms and/or user interfaces.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into operational software.
• Good problem-solving ability with strong attention to software detail.
• Clear communication skills with experience explaining technical facts and practices to internal team members.
• Desirable experience using AI development tools to accelerate workflow while maintaining code quality.
• Basic understanding or background in signal processing principles.
• Experience in user interface development where speed of response and clarity of information is critical.
• Development of APIs and interfaces to distributed systems.
• Experience guiding or assisting junior engineers and entry-level staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain embedded software using C#, .NET, MAUI and other related technologies across the software development lifecycle.
• Solve general technical problems by applying prior experience and analysis of system requirements.
• Develop solutions to allow distributed operation between multiple nodes and highly integrated systems of systems.
• Recommend local adjustments or enhancements to software systems, tools, and development processes.
• Implement test automation, including unit, regression, and performance tests, to ensure high software quality.
• Participate in peer code and AI reviews, applying quality standards and providing construct feedback.
• Communicate clear technical information to departmental team members to reach agreement on tasks and implementation details.
• Provide guidance and assistance to entry-level professionals or support staff as needed.
