Job summary

Enterprise Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced RF Design Engineer to join an established RF engineering team working on real communications hardware up to 30–50GHz. You will design, build, test and optimise RF circuits, using VNAs, spectrum analysers, signal generators and oscilloscopes, from concept through prototype to production.

Location Stevenage, Hertfordshire; salary £45,000–£60,000; hands-on role delivering working hardware and solving RF challenges.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronic Engineering, RF Engineering, Microwave Engineering or similar.
• Commercial experience designing, developing and debugging RF, microwave or high‑frequency circuits.
• Hands‑on understanding of RF fundamentals and prototype development.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test and debug RF circuits to deliver working hardware.
• Work with VNAs, spectrum analysers, signal generators and oscilloscopes to analyse RF performance.
• Take designs from concept through prototype development, testing and production.

RF Design Engineer

A great opportunity for an experienced RF Design Engineer to join an established and technically capable RF engineering team working on real communications hardware. This role offers hands‑on involvement in the design, development, testing and optimisation of RF circuits operating up to 30–50GHz, with the opportunity to work on challenging next‑generation communications technologies.

The business is strengthening its UK engineering capability and is looking for an RF engineer who can contribute to the development of high-performance RF hardware from initial concept through to prototype, testing and production.

You’ll be involved in the design, build, test and debugging of RF circuits, working with advanced laboratory equipment including VNAs, spectrum analysers, signal generators and oscilloscopes. This is a practical engineering position focused on delivering working hardware, solving complex RF problems and supporting product development rather than purely theoretical or research‑based work.

RF Design Engineer – Essential Skills

• RF Design & Engineering: Degree in Electronic Engineering, RF Engineering, Microwave Engineering or a similar discipline, with commercial experience designing, developing and debugging RF, microwave or high-frequency electronic circuits.
• RF Testing & Measurement: Strong practical experience using RF laboratory equipment including VNAs, spectrum analysers, signal generators and oscilloscopes, with the ability to analyse RF performance and troubleshoot hardware.
• Practical Development Experience: Hands‑on understanding of RF fundamentals including impedance matching, S-parameters, gain, noise and linearity, with experience taking designs from concept through prototype development, testing and optimisation.

Desirable Experience

• High‑Frequency & Microwave Experience: Experience designing or testing RF circuits above 30GHz, with exposure to microwave/mmWave technologies and applications such as satcoms, defence communications, radar or radio systems.
• RF Hardware & PCB Design: Experience with RF components including amplifiers, filters, mixers, oscillators and transceivers, alongside high‑frequency PCB design, controlled‑impedance layouts, transmission lines and RF interconnects.
• Simulation & Product Development: Experience using RF simulation tools such as Keysight ADS, AWR Microwave Office or similar, with a track record of taking RF hardware through prototype development, verification and product development.
