Job summary

Mount Charles is recruiting a Cook for our Clifton House, Belfast site. This role involves preparing and cooking all food to high standards, ensuring HACCP compliance and maintaining the service counter for daily service.

You will join a team focused on great customer service, working 8am–6:30pm, 3 days out of 7, with every other weekend off and pro rata annual leave. We value people, teamwork, and pride in doing things right.

Qualifications

• Previous culinary experience in a busy kitchen.
• Demonstrable knowledge of HACCP and food safety.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook all food to an exceptional standard, ensuring HACCP compliance.
• Prepare service counter and maintain high service standards.
• Provide high levels of customer service to all facility users.
• Work with the team to deliver service on time and to a high standard.
• Record food temperatures, update cleaning schedules, and complete HACCP documentation.
• In the absence of the Unit Manager, complete bookwork procedures per company policy.
• Report defects to the Line Manager and ensure opening/closing of outlets per procedures.
• Ensure all food is labelled correctly and perform cleaning duties as required.
• Follow health, safety and hygiene policies and procedures.

The Role

• Prepare and cook all food to an exceptional standard, ensuring all HACCP regulations are adhered to.
• Ensure the service counter is prepped and ready for service
• Providing the highest level of customer service in a consistent approach to anyone who uses the facility
• Work as part of the team to ensure the service is delivered on time and to the highest possible standard
• Completing any administration which would sit within remit including recording of food temperatures, updating cleaning schedules and any other HACCP documentation.
• In the absence of the Unit Manager complete bookwork procedures in line with company requirements
• Report defective equipment/ utensils/ work and floor surfaces to the Line Manager
• Ensure the opening and closing of all food outlets are carried out in accordance with Company procedures.
• Ensure all food is labelled correctly
• Carry out cleaning duties as required by Unit Manage
• Comply with HACCP regulations as necessar
• Ensure all Health, Safety and Hygiene policies and procedures areadhered to

The Person

• Previous culinary experience
• Previous experience working in a busy kitchen
• Demonstratable knowledge of HACCP
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• The ability to work successfully as part of a team or individual
• Basic statutory training for the role will require all candidates to have basic reading, writing,speakingand listening skills toassistin understanding safety and work, instructions and communicating with customer on a day-today basis.
