Mount Charles Group is recruiting a Cleaning Operative on a part-time basis to join the team at Ladbrokes Central Court in Derry/Londonderry. The role involves cleaning to required standards, handling cleaning chemicals safely under COSHH, and ensuring equipment is used only after proper training.

You will work about 4 hours per week, with flexibility to clean before 9am or after 9pm on available days. The company offers holidays, pension, and progression opportunities within a family-friendly

Responsibilities

• Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and to required standards, including weekly tasks.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely per COSHH guidelines.
• Be fully familiar with cleaning equipment and training before use.
• Report faulty equipment immediately and mark as faulty.
• Use safety signage appropriately and warn customers when possible.
• Keep cleaning stores tidy and equipment stored safely.

Working Pattern

• 4 hours per week
• 1 hour clean 4 times a week
• Can be cleaned any day - when site is closed (Before 9am or after 9pm)

The Role

• Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards - this to include weekly and periodic tasks
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to health guidelines (COSHH)
• Ensure full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and agents and use cleaning equipment as directed by the Line Manager only after correct training is given.
• Report immediately any equipment which is faulty, mark as faulty and do not use
• Ensure that the safety signage is used appropriate at all times, e.g. wet floor signs and ‘warn’ customers where possible
• Ensure that cleaning stores are kept clean and tidy and equipment is stored correctly and safely at all times

Basic statutory training for the role will require all candidates to have basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to assist in understanding safety and work instructions and communicating with customers on a day-to-day basis.
