Job summary

Autajon Packaging in Royston is seeking a Production Operator for the daytime shift. You will set up, operate and monitor rewinding equipment, inspect labels using AVT cameras, and ensure orders are completed on time in full (OTIF).

You will handle rolls, pack finished goods, report defects, and maintain high housekeeping standards. Training on machinery and safety procedures will be provided on joining the team.

Qualifications

• Experience operating rewinder equipment preferred.
• Ability to follow SOPs and health & safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor rewinding equipment per job specs.
• Monitor reels with AVT camera inspection to ensure label quality.
• Handle rolls from rewinder; pack into boxes; stack finished goods.
• Check label quality; report defects using Material Defect Report.
• Quarantine defective material and inform Team Leader.
• Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness in the work area.
• Carry out equipment maintenance and ensure machinery is in good order.
• Operate ancillary machines (core cutting, Wrapeel, Domino) as required.
• Work with colleagues to complete orders OTIF and follow safety procedures.

Job description

**No Nights, No Weekends, No Bank Holidays**

37.5hrs, Monday to Friday, 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00 (Weekly Rotating)

• Setting up, operating and monitoring rewinding equipment in accordance with job specifications.
• Monitoring finished reels using AVT camera inspection equipment to ensure labels meet the required quality standards.
• Handling rolls of labels as they come off the rewinder, packing them into boxes and stacking finished goods safely and efficiently.
• Checking label quality, identifying defects and resolving or reporting issues using the Material Defect Report.
• Quarantining defective material and communicating issues to the Team Leader.
• Following all production procedures, SOPs and quality requirements.
• Maintaining excellent standards of housekeeping and cleanliness across the work area.
• Carrying out general equipment maintenance and ensuring machinery is kept in good working order.
• Operating and cleaning the core cutting machine when required.
• Operating the Wrapeel (Rewind 4) when required.
• Operating the Domino numbering machine when required.
• Operating the folding machine/Braille maker when required.
• Working closely with colleagues and other departments to ensure orders are completed On Time In Full (OTIF).
• Following all health and safety procedures and contributing to a safe working environment.
• Undertaking any additional reasonable duties requested by your Line Manager.
