Label Finishing Operator / Rewind Operator – Job Description

Role Overview As a Label Finishing / Rewind Operator, you will operate finishing and rewinding machines to inspect, slit, rewind, and prepare printed labels for delivery. The role involves ensuring high-quality finished reels, correct quanCCes, and compliance with job specificaCons while supporCng efficient producCon.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate rewind and label finishing machines.
• Inspect printed labels for defects, colour variaCon, misprints, or damage.
• Slit and rewind label rolls to customer-specified widths and quanCCes.
• Remove defecCve labels during inspecCon.
• Label and package finished reels correctly.
• Set up machine parameters such as tension, speed, and alignment.
• Maintain accurate producCon records and job sheets.
• Perform basic machine maintenance and cleaning.
• Follow health and safety procedures within the producCon environment.

Skills and Experience

• Experience in label finishing, or packaging producCon.
• Knowledge of rewinding, sliNng, and label inspecCon processes.
• Strong aOenCon to detail to detect print defects.
• Ability to read job Cckets and producCon specificaCons.
• Basic mechanical knowledge of producCon machines.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Working Hours / Shift Pattern

This role operates on a two-shiQ rotaCon from Monday to Friday:

• Morning ShiQ: 05:50 – 13:25
• Afternoon ShiQ: 13:25 – 21:00

On Fridays, shorter shiQs apply:

• Morning ShiQ: 06:00 – 12:00
• Afternoon ShiQ: 12:00 – 18:00

Salary

£25,000 – £28,000 per annum, depending on experience.
