Daniel Owen is proud to represent a well-known company based in the South East London area, seeking a highly skilled Revenues Operation Team Leader to join their team.
Main Purpose of the Role:
- Support the Revenues Operation Manager in delivering an excellent, customer-focused, and inclusive front-line Council Tax service.
- Collaborate with the Revenues Operation Manager to ensure a prompt and efficient Council Tax service, including quality assurance, resource planning, and verification of discounts and exemptions. Take swift action to recover debts where inappropriate awards or deception are identified.
- Assist in administering all operational aspects of Council Tax to protect the council's income.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adapt service delivery to meet changing community and customer needs.
- Monitor and review service outcomes to ensure objectives are met.
- Plan and coordinate resources to meet operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with statutory legislation, local strategies, and policies.
- Understand the impact of services on other functions.
- Manage the team daily to deliver efficient collection and review services, including conducting team briefings, one-on-one meetings, and appraisals.
- Oversee the digitalisation of Revenues and Benefits post to meet service level agreements.
- Verify the validity of council tax refund requests.
- Collaborate with the team to review procedures in line with legislation and produce clear work instructions for quality service delivery.
- Collect and analyse data to ensure quality and accuracy, monitor KPIs, and identify service improvements.
- Provide advice on complex council tax queries and assist in interpreting legislation. Support training and mentoring as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation, procedures, and technology; pursue personal and professional development.
- Maximise revenue collection, manage discounts, exemptions, and reliefs, and promote welfare benefits and hardship applications.
