Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in North Yorkshire to assist with the appointment of a Revenues Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at client's discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £14.50 - £18.22 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule, monitor, and validate batch processes, including council tax billing, benefit payments, and direct debit operations.
  • Ensure that all automated and manual controls align with internal procedures and resilience planning.
  • Respond to internal and external audits and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Organize workloads to meet deadlines, prioritizing tasks to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Develop productive working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, including statutory agencies and IT providers.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Knowledge of legislation and practice for either revenues and benefits administration or both, with skills to interpret and apply new legislation to the Council as required.
  • Awareness of confidentiality with regard to personal information with particular reference to the Data Protection Act.
  • Demonstrable evidence of experience of undertaking a role where the use of technology and software packages was a feature of that role.
