Job summary

EQUANS is seeking a Retrofit Technical Advisor to join our Hatfield-based team on a full-time, permanent basis. The role involves delivering Retrofit Coordination on live projects, ensuring PAS2035 compliance and best practice in retrofit assessment, coordination, and design.

You will travel weekly to sites across London and the South East, hold a full UK driving licence, and work with internal and external stakeholders to maintain quality standards and audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of PAS2035 processes, PAS2030/MCS compliance, and relevant building regulations.
• Ability to analyse technical data and PAS2035 documentation.
• Experience leading RC projects and performing retrofit QA.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Retrofit Coordination on live projects with PAS2035 compliance and technical oversight.

Our head office is Hatfield where you will be based, the role also requires half of your week to be spent travelling to sites across London and South East and Surrounding areas. The Retrofit Technical Solutions Advisor is responsible for delivering in-house Retrofit Coordination on live projects, ensuring compliance with PAS2035 standards and best practices in retrofit assessment, coordination, and design. This role supports quality assurance, project oversight, and technical compliance while working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders. The role also requires staying updated on policy changes, funding opportunities, and technological advancements to drive high-quality retrofit solutions. A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver Retrofit Coordination on live projects as required, ensuring adherence to PAS2035 compliance frameworks and best practices, providing technical oversight, and ensuring smooth execution.
• Support in carrying out quality assurance (QA) on Retrofit Assessments (RAs), Retrofit Coordination (RCs), and Retrofit Designs (RDs), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and the highest technical standards while identifying and rectifying any issues.
• Assist in the verification of project data, audit trails, and technical documentation to support compliance audits, funding applications, and project reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with technical teams, project managers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of retrofit measures into project plans and construction activities while ensuring adherence to sustainability best practices.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges in retrofit projects, proactively engaging with stakeholders to find effective solutions while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
• Participate in project reviews and technical meetings, providing insights on retrofit solutions, risk mitigation, and process improvements, and ensuring continuous enhancement of retrofit strategies.
• Contribute to the development of internal process guides and training materials, helping to standardise retrofit workflows, compliance frameworks, and best practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Conduct Retrofit Assessments on targeted projects, evaluating property suitability, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending appropriate energy efficiency measures.
• Stay updated on industry innovations, funding schemes, and policy changes, researching emerging trends and ensuring internal processes and projects align with the latest sustainability and retrofit advancements.
• Conduct pre- and post-retrofit evaluations, analysing the effectiveness of installed measures, gathering performance data, and identifying opportunities for process optimisation and improvement.
• Engage in liaison with external auditors and industry regulators, ensuring projects meet industry standards and compliance obligations.

About You

• L5 Retrofit Coordinator Qualification and experience leading as RC projects.
• Full Driving Licence with the ability to travel to multiple sites as required.
• Strong and demonstrable knowledge of PAS2035 process, PAS2030/MCS compliance, building regulations, and industry standards.
• Ability to analyse technical data, produce and interrogate PAS2035 documentation, and assess retrofit solutions.
• Ability to deliver full and detailed QA on Retrofit Assessments.
