Job summary

Bury Council is seeking a Technical Energy Officer to join the Energy Team within the Housing Property Team. You will coordinate retrofit surveys, collect energy data and support long-term energy improvement programmes across our housing stock.

Based at the office with remote hybrid working, you will advise on low carbon heating and manage asset data, ensuring regulatory standards are met and funding opportunities are maximised.

Qualifications

• Retrofit co-ordinator experience is essential.
• Knowledge of Decent Homes, MEES and PAS 2035 required.
• Excellent data-recording and analytical skills.
• Experience with low carbon/renewable installations preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills.
• Familiarity with asset management and survey software.

Responsibilities

• Carry out retrofit co-ordination and oversight of RC/retrofit surveys.
• Collect accurate energy data and support investment planning.
• Provide specialist advice on low carbon heating options.
• Maintain asset database using relevant software.
• Project-manage and liaise with residents, contractors and colleagues.
• Develop briefs for energy schemes and support grant applications.
