Job summary

Bury Council is seeking a Technical Energy Officer to drive energy improvement schemes across our housing stock. You will undertake energy surveys, including EPC and retrofit surveys, and help plan long-term investment programmes with grant funding opportunities.

You will coordinate retrofit activities, manage data, support asset management, and advise on low carbon heating installations while collaborating with residents, contractors, and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Retrofit Co-ordinator experience.
• Knowledge of Decent Homes, MEES and PAS 2035.
• Attention to detail with strong record-keeping and analytical skills.
• Experience with low carbon and renewable technology installations.
• Good communication, written and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Retrofit Co-ordination and oversee external RC and retrofit surveys across housing portfolio.
• Collect accurate data on energy and retrofit schemes.
• Support development of asset management strategy and investment planning.
• Provide specialist advice on low carbon heating and analysis of current and future installations.
• Assist in maintaining and updating an asset database using relevant software.
• Project manage and liaise with residents, contractors and colleagues.
• Develop specifications and briefs for energy schemes ensuring latest products.
• Assist with delivery of energy schemes and grant documentation.
