Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking a Retrofit Delivery Manager to lead the Greener HousiNG Retrofit Team and drive delivery of grant-funded home energy improvements. The role focuses on managing the Warm Homes Local Grant and subsequent retrofit schemes to support fuel poverty reduction and green growth targets.

The post requires extensive project management experience, knowledge of renewable energy programs, and a PAS 2035 Level 5 qualification (or commitment to obtain within 12 months).

Qualifications

• Experience applying project management techniques to monitor and control programmes.
• Experience delivering large-scale renewable energy programs (solar PV, insulation, retrofits).
• Deep understanding of domestic energy efficiency systems (solar PV, air source heat pumps, insulation).
• Degree in building services, construction, housing, engineering or energy management; PAS 2035 Level 5 or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to advise on EPC and PAS2035 compliance.
• Ability to build relationships with colleagues and partners from diverse backgrounds.
• Willingness to participate in the on-call rota.

Contract Type: Fixed Term for (2 years). Working Hours: 37 hours per week. Worker Type: Hybrid Worker. Salary: Starting Salary is £47,665 (Level one), rising to £50,908 (Level four) per annum (pro rata for part-time).

About the Role

To manage the Greener HousiNG Retrofit Team and lead the delivery of grant-funded home energy improvements for the Carbon Reduction Projects and Policy Service. The Greener HousiNG Team has delivered over 1,200 energy efficiency measures across the city. The post's substantive role is to act as Project Manager for the Warm Homes Local Grant project and subsequent grant-funded domestic retrofit schemes. The role is part of the Service Management Team and has a wider remit in coordinating energy efficiency works that will help to meet the fuel poverty and green growth targets of the organisation.

About You

• Significant experience in the application of Project Management practical techniques to enable monitoring and control of individual programmes and projects.
• Experience of delivering large scale renewable energy programs including solar PV, insulation and whole house retrofits.
• In-depth experience and understanding of the design of domestic energy efficiency systems such as solar PV, air source heat pumps and insulation measures.
• Degree or equivalent experience in building services, construction, housing, engineering or energy management, plus a Level 5 Retrofit Coordinator qualification (PAS 2035) or commitment to obtain within 12 months.
• Ability to provide technical advice and recommendations to support project proposals: ability to provide advice and recommendations for EPC and PAS2035 (or current equivalent) compliance.
• Ability to build effective relationships and support among colleagues and community partners from diverse backgrounds.
• The role requires participating in the on-call rota.
